Studio City, the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles
Studio City is part of the City of Los Angeles. Inside the City of Los Angeles, power comes from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the largest municipal water and power utility in the nation, and permits come from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS). Not every Valley community is inside the city, so your power bill is the quickest way to tell which utility's rules apply.
LADWP home charger rebate
- Up to $1,000 toward buying and installing a qualifying home EV charger, for LADWP residential account holders.
- An additional $500 (up to $1,500 total) for customers in LADWP's Senior Citizen/Disability Lifeline or EZ-SAVE programs.
- An additional $250 for installing a dedicated EV meter.
- LADWP asks customers to book a service assessment before installing the charger.
- The application needs the LADBS electrical permit with a "Finaled" status, and an itemized, paid invoice.
