How we handle a Pasadena install

Pasadena Water and Power pays $600 for a qualifying Wi-Fi enabled or internet-connected Level 2 charger and $200 for a standard one, limited to two chargers per residential address. Apply within 180 days of purchase, after the charger is installed.
Does a 240-volt outlet qualify?
No. PWP says an existing or new 240-volt outlet is not eligible, and neither are chargers that switch between Level 1 and Level 2. The charger must be a new unit, wall-mounted at the service address on the application.
Do I need a permit in Pasadena?
Yes, for a hardwired charger or a new or modified 240-volt socket. PWP requires an electrical permit from the City of Pasadena's Building and Safety Division. The Permit Center is at (626) 744-4200.
